Re: PayPal Cart
I appear to have solved the issue by removing the program and reinstalling with the full 17.1.4 installation package whereas previously I just copied over the updated files only without the installer. No idea why this resulted in this issue but may be helpful to anyone else experiencing this.

No sorry I was just running a test via the built in preview function which worked on previous versions. I haven't reached the stage of publishing and previewing via my local server. When I reinstall the base 17.0.0 version it works OK.

Since upgrading to the latest version 17.1.4 the Paypal Cart icon no longer appears to respond to items being added to the cart by showing the number of items or providing a link to open the cart . Is this something that anyone else has experienced?

Hi Naval.
That does seem strange.
Your cart auto updates when the country is changed which is a nice touch.
Thanks George

Hi ponderosaprinting/Naval
Would it be possible to use a Combobox instead of a textbox for the quantity. You could then set the values as you wanted e.g. 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 etc. I'm sure I've used this method before, I'll look through my files and see if I can find it.

I’m not sure why but it seems common for the tax to be added to the whole cart value (including shipping). This seems to be a big alteration in the cart code from what I can see. Any pointers would be appreciated.

This is exactly the same issue as US residents: US sites apply taxes ONLY to residents of the same state where the company is.

Re: Modified version of the WB6 Webshop!! Webshop_plus
It works brilliantly. Just had to remove the $ from the $10 as below:
if($shiptocountry == $origin_country){
$taxes = $subtotal * $10/ 100;
}
and it does the trick. Very handy to know for the future.
Thanks again, much appreciated.

You can do this by adding an onfocus event to the edit box as below:
Editbox > Events > OnFocus > Javascript Function > then type in the javascript box
When you click the box the initial value will disapear.
Editbox > Events > OnFocus > Javascript Function > then type in the javascript box
Code: Select all
this.value='';return false;"

Hi uniformality. This behaviour happens because the 'cart' function has already happened on your web page so you effectively just visit the PayPal site to make the payment either by PayPal account (hence the log in) or by debit/credit card.

see http://www.primal-design.co.uk
Obviously this will create strange results in IE6 but seems OK in most other browsers I've tried.
