can someone show me where the settings are for the position of the cards in the books template example
carousel intro has 3 cards

the margins aren't set, no layers are shown, so what determines the position of the cards on the carousel
they cant be moved as they just snap back to a fixed point.

The book template does not use cards but images.
The position of the images is controlled by a script in Html2 (OWL Carousel)

just downloaded again books template

just under the menu
is a carousel with some images true
and in the object manager you can see under this object
3 cards - cities of the world - spanish islands

I deleted everything from the project except the header and the carousel object and cant see the position info for the cards...

please

The position of these cards is controlled by the padding of the carousel.
You can set the padding via the padding property in the 'Arrange' menu or context menu.
