Hi Prosenjeet,
Script is free but needs probably weeks work on theme and then integrate it as a wb extension so it will be easy to use for everyone. And to be fair I think a small amount for such a cart if it is done nicely with wb is fair enough. Important is the value you add otherwise 1000s cart are free out there. But people who has less knowledge or time don't want to spend time to integrate it to the wb. . Myself I can build any extension and I do not have to buy any extension from anyone but e.g I have bought 3-4 extensions and templates from you which I didn't have time to build them myself from scratch.

Hi r3za,

I was referring to the link submitted by Bendigo (Neil). That script is free.

Regarding using of free scripts and converting them into paid extension. I guess this point was raised earlier. For example Bacon Fries, imagine him charging for each excellent extension he creates...well then we are leading no where.

Thats my view.

Well I think you have answered nicely. I have no longer the time or the interest to work on an extension for a project. Besides my customer pays the £9.99 fee that Reza is charging and not me:)

Hello again Prosenjeet,

The minicart is the same but I have added all options which is available in minicart but previously it wan not to gives move ability for people who want something really easy to use and edit from mincart to product.

Major work I have done is to give ability to change the whole item in one go rather than spending time to use different extensions for one item.

Basically you drag 10 items and edit your product price and picture as a whole without align etc. I took time and I did a page with 20 items up and running in less than 5 mins.

Otherwise you need to spend probably more than couple. Of hours for 20 items as this one extension is made of more than 10 extension and elements.

With new version, each item gets its own star rating. And people can rate each item. And also discounted price and some more.

@Me I don't mind paying for something that I need
And the script is free, however it is down to the
Individual developer to charge or not. Paul & RZ
Are two guys that make cracking extensions
And don't charge it is the way they operate but bear in mind
If I need a bespoke job I pay for it. All the software
That I have written for Bendigo are written with
VB 6 but have a bespoke component that I have
Paid for as it was not available in the market.

For what it is worth (Sean) bendigo it is only recently they you were questioning another members "bourin" right to charge for extensions that he had made from "Free" scripts as you thought it was wrong to do so, but now it seems that it is perfectly ok for another to do so, even prasing them, it is either it is ok or not, it doesnt work both ways...and yes this may peeve you off but I have been one that has helped you out more than once in the past to make a extension/s work ie store locator externsion that took a bit of jiggling and some hours to get to work with WB, I did this giving up my free time but not once did I ever ask you for payment for the time I spent on it, I did it freely no matter how long it took me, I did it on the friendship that I thought that we had as fellow extension builder not because I want to gain profit from something that is "Free" This debate could also go on and on but I feel if it is "free" then it should remain "Free" but if it is your own coding/PHP/javascript then yes you have a right to charge if you wish to do so...

Bendigo, this is the post Bacon is referring to:
bendigo wrote:I have brought up this issue before in this thread but you chose to ignore it but you SHOULD NOT charge for a wrapper that is for a free script (Fatfree shopping cart or PayPal mini cart). I can understand if it was a commercial script but why you have chosen to charge people is beyond me. I find it unacceptable. :?

@ME I still stand by what I was saying before. The difference is I am asking the developer to build me an extension based on the free script as I have not got the time or the knowledge. Now if he was offering this extension without anyone asking for it I probably would not buy this. Anyway we can discuss this until the cows come home. Best we leave it at that.

Re: PayPal Mini Cart Plus - Paid*

Guys,

I think this goes too complicated. Important is that we respect each other and ideas and views. I understand if someone add up some code as free and release but he/she already has benefited from it and that is why it is free. Depend on work you do and value you add, everyone can estimate what he is done or not and give it away for free or charge it. e.g. person who has built mini cart and he left it free of charge because he already has some benefit from paypal etc and it is not free of charge for him actually.

I have about 150 wb extensions which i have built some myself from scratch or some are built from free scripts from 2007. I emailed Pablo asking for a dev account so I can push them to the extensions manager some free and some of course chargeable but I never thought i get involve in such a conversations. strange is that I have same mini cart code which I built for wordpress and joomla and selling it for two years now with no issue.

The whole point is that we all work with wb and the best idea is to respect what other people produce, free or chargeable and stop being picky or wasting time on conversations that there is no end. I understand BaconFries concern but from otherside I never go pick into Prosenjeet extensions and question him such a manner even though mainly his extensions are taken from somewhere else or not. because honestly i dont have time for it. I thank him or you for what your have put together but it is childish if I dig or act as a police officer.

personally if i see an extension that is useful for me, I buy or free and i really do not care who built it or if it was free script etc. because this is not really my business or if i want to involve myself in this conversation further , there will be no end. because we are different people and different ideas and life and important is that we are all here and there is no need to make eachother upset etc.

Hopefully we get to the end of such a conversation and spend more quality time.

thanks anyway for your feedback.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTACH YOURSELF TO A THREAD YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. I SUGGEST YOU READ IT FULLY AND GRASP IT FIRST OR DON'T THROW YOUR 2Ps WORTH. ARE YOU AN EXTENSION DEVELOPER? HAVE YOU MADE SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF EXTENSIONS???? YOUR COMMENT IS NOT RELEVANT. THIS IS NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU LIKE OR DON'T LIKE. THE MATTER WAS RAISED AND A CONCLUSION WAS REACHED. END OF STORY. I HOPE THIS MAKES THIS PURPOSE OF THIS THREAD CLEAR.

PABLO HAS RIGHTFULLY SEPARATED THE "PAID" EXTENSIONS. NOW IF YOU WANT TO BUY IT, YOU DO SO, OTHERWISE LEAVE THIS SECTION AND REFRAIN FROM MAKING CRASS COMMENTS.

I just would like to apologise to REZA for all the things that was said in HIS thread. All he had in mind was to offer his extension and an unnecessary debate came out of it which benefited no one and especially him. So REZA I am sorry for ruining your good intentions.

BTW my previous offer still stands. :)

Hi;
I mean, I don't want to put any product image. I have noticed there is a min extension size limit where it cannot be resized below a certain size.

Appologize if late response. I have been busy with a project and somehow managed to miss your message.
I can update the cart to accept Australian Dollar if you still interested.

if there are tiny requests, I am happy to change if needed.
