Lightbox 2.03a with hyperlinks ***23/07/10***
Lightbox 2.0.3a with hyperlinks
Lightbox is a simple, unobtrusive script used to overlay images on the current page. It's a snap to set-up and works on all modern browsers. It is now possilbe to add hyperlinks/urls to the lightbox so that the user can on click of a title and be taken to another page outside of the one browsing. Please read the pdf for instruction on how to use and add the hyperlinks...

Re: Lightbox 2.03a with hyperlinks ***23/07/10***
Hi BaconFries, I have also a question about clicking an image opens the hyperlink directly.
I am searching for a 'thumb box' with only thumbs. And clicking on the thumbs opens the hyperlink.
I mean, clicking on the thumb does not activate the lightbox, but only a website.
And even nice would be if the thumb has a caption or a note below, or next to it.
Could you make something like that?
I would be very gratefull.
Thanks!
Ivar

@ Ivar as you are aware all the lightbox scripts are designed to open another image onclicking a thumbnail so it is already using this event and cannot open a url.... You really dont need the lightbox to achieve this you can just place a row of thumbnail images on your page and link each thumb to the selected url that you need...you could also try my other extension this allows yuo to place a thumnail on your page and on click it wiill open a browser window....

Hi BaconFries,
Thanks for your answer. I already discouverd that the hyperlinks do not work on most of the extentions.... but they do also not work on your greybox browser image.. (chrome and IE9). Maybe I do something wrong?
And if this is fixable, I would like tot have a (hyperlink) title or description next to the image...
And a
I could make something manualy of course, but I want to change the order and add pictures now and thenn. And it is a lot easyer if this can be done in such as an extention.
Or do you know an extention wicht can place 'a row of thumbnail images on my page and link each thumb to the selected url that Ineed...?
I suppose you do not feel like to make such an extention...?
Just a row of (small) images, which are clickable and and a clickable title below or right next to it.

Hi regarding not working in IE9 I cant say why as I dont use it yet as it is still a "Beta" candigate and till it is properly functional I prefer not to install...as for chrome I know that it does not display in preview mode but once it is uploaded to a server/host I know that it works fine...again I cant say why it doesnt work in preview .
Regarding not wanting to make a extension it not that I dont want to, if there was a script avaulable to do what you wanted then I would consider making it into a extension for everyone to use, so far I havent seen a script that just does what you need. I could probally make one but this takes time to write all the css , javascript needed and then the testing to make sure this works...so having a premade script is easier, if you can find a script and is free then you can let me know and I will consider putting it together as a extension...

Hi, Thanks for your support.
In Wb7 there is a build in Photo Galery (In Toolbox next to newsviewer)
Thats what I need, exept the missing hyperlinks.
I asked if they can make integrating the hyperlinks, but they do not want it...
Maybe you see a solution?
Thanks!

Hi Ivar...I dont think it is they dont want to do it, it is just that the Photo Gallery Tool is a Gallery for displaying images only and does not require the need for url/links as the purpose is just to display images nothing else....
What you are looking for is not a Gallery Tool or Gallery Extension but a navigtion/menu that allows you to use thumbnails/photo instead of just a colored images....as far as I know there is nothing available that matches that, that why it has been mentioned just to use thumbnails and give each one its own url, I understand that it iwould be easire if there was a Tool in WB or a extension to do this but as of yet there is nothing available...The only solution I can think of is that you use the Photo Gallery Tool then modify the HTML so that the thumbs will still get displayed and you will also have a url/link too...

Thanks again BaconFries for your comment.
How can I modify the html code from the gallery box?
Is it doable in WB7 itself?

No it is not possible to modify the HTML in WB directly as WB is not a HTML editor but a HTML generator, you will need to do this in a HTML Editor such as Notepad++. To do this you would need to save your project then open the HTML file that you have the thumbnails on and look for this line of code (this is from the photogallery ) note that if you make any changes to the project again in WB you will need to do this again each time you make a change...

It should be available to download install from the Extension Manager. It not let me know and I will dig it ouit from a pen drive and reupload.
Re: Lightbox 2.03a with hyperlinks ***23/07/10***
It's not there, but there's no rush. I am just exploring a solution for a client and the "with hyperlinks" caught my attention. If you have seen my other posts, he wants a scrollable window, but clicking on the thumbnail brings up the full-size image in a new window. I was able to do this by putting the lightbox page inside an iFrame, and in the lightbox page, edit the html to Replace rel="lightbox[id1]" with target="_blank". It works, but I really don't want to modify the generated html.
