My website runs only on some pcs

Post by wrsalasr »

Hi,

I really don't know where to place this query, I have made my website [url]url] using the WWB14, but I have a problem, it can only be seen from some PCs and some phones, on the other pcs a message appears indicating that the page cannot be found, I have already contacted my hosting provider and he tells me that the problem is not theirs, I have also communicated with my ISP provider and he also tells me that the problem is not theirs either, could someone tell me how I can verify if my page is correctly constructed or is there any element that has been corrupted or is missing?

Thank you

Your website seems to work correct in all browsers.
What do I need to do to see the problem?

Hi Pablo,

That is exactly the problem!!, in some pc you can access the website as in your case but in others like mine I cannot access the website, this is the error message:

But if I use this tool https://www.proxysite.com/, if I can access the page, this is really driving me crazy!!!

If there is an error while accessing the server then this can only be a web host related issue.
Note that web hosts usually blame the software at first, before they admit that something is wrong at their side.
I think, in this case it is clear that this has nothing to do with the page.

I can successfully view your web site from Canada. No problem.

That "suggests" that the while the web site is available to some, there must be something blocking access from others. This is not a software issue, since the problem would be seen by everyone, if that were the case.

If the "problem PCs" are able to browse other web sites, then the problem lies with your web hosting company. Perhaps the host has blocked certain countries, or certain ranges of IP addresses. I would log into your web hosting company's cPanel, or whichever GUI you use, and read through the log files for errors. If a particular PC's IP address is being rejected by the host, it should show up in the logs. Or, perhaps you have set up your own htaccess file with ALLOW/DENY IP address ranges?

Probably nothing to do with this but I notice it has an SSL certificate but it doesn’t automatically get redirected to https:// ....

Views perfectly from Miami,Fl. USA
Definitely not redirecting to SSL but if you enter https://www.satcomtk.com it then shows as secure.
Can you see it on your pc if you click the above SSL link? WWBman might be on to something if you can.
Cheers,

This is definitely something to sort out with your hosting service, it's nothing to do with WB.

I can see both your http and https sites fine here in France. I had some similar issues when I purchased a secure certificate as it wasn't implemented properly by my hosting service. Their support team eventually solved the problem and also ensured that anyone trying to access the site via http. was redirected to the secure https. You should have only the secure (https) visible to visitors.

Does your host have a downtime status report?

I get emailed for any event that causes a downtime with my host.
Making mistakes....and still learning as I go along.. and very grateful to those who know far more than me... :)
