thoughts on using youtube videos from youtube without permission?
If a youtube video is available on youtube is it ok to use on a website, or should one get permission. Looking for thoughts on this - thanks - old tony

If the video is yours and you are the copyright owner then you can use it. If the video is not your property then it will most likely be copyrighted and you are not permitted to use without the copyright owners permission.

Youtube gets a lot of revenue from videos. So they spend a lot of money on investing in software/platforms that check for unauthorised use of videos. So even if the video/s you are thinking of using are not monetised , there is a very good chance (risk) that YT will be on to it.
Personally, were it me, I'd feel asking permission first is the right thing to do. Then make it clear that you have permission.
