Some Installed Extensions Not Shown In Ext. Manager

Post by mhinnc »

I see all extensions I've installed in the Toolbox. There are many of these installed extensions which are paid extensions and are not appearing now in the Extension Manager. I've only noticed this today. It has been a little while since I've visited the Extension Manager, but I'm inclined to think installed extensions were listed in the past.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program and the issue wasn't resolved.

Thanks.

Maye you have installed too many extensions?
The maximum is 250, otherwise the software will run out of memory.

Can the limit of 250 installed extensions be increased?

Okay, I'm an admitted extension junkie. Somewhat surprisingly, I've counted 380 currently installed extensions in my WWB17 program.

"Hello, everyone. My name is XXX and I'm an extension addict." could be my mantra. Which do I eliminate? How do I choose? I'm endeared to each. Many paid for extensions through WWB, many through third party vendors. But oh, the possibilities (or so I think.) Many remain unused. But surely, the ones I remove would have been most missed in the next project. Perhaps.

For now, I will attempt to persuade myself to unclutter the list (an uphill battle - you should see my desk).

Thanks for your and the teams efforts!

Each extension is a DLL. An application has a maximum number of DLLs it can load. This is not something I can change. It is a system limitation.
The number '250' is an approximate, it may be more or less depending on your system configuration.

@mhinnc,

I feel your pain. :D I hate having to decide which ones to remove.

@Pablo,

If you are at the max and simply disable them (not remove) does this free up space and allow you to add other extension? (ex: disable 5 I can now add 5 active new ones?)

Awesome, that's what I was hoping! Makes it easier to simply disable/enable without having to go thru the process of installing and uninstalling extensions!

380 extensions? Wow. I think I have about 10 - and I use 2 or three.

I need to get more imaginative :D

Oh no! I counted all the items in the toolbox. So, it isn't that bad... only 228 extra installed extensions! :lol:

I'm glad to hear the "Disable" will work. Now... on to find more extensions. :wink:
