installing update WWB 17.05

Post by J.V. »

Hi there,
got WWB 17.04 on WIN 10. Again I cant run update 17.05
Even uninstalled my WWB 17.04 to start from the very beginning!

Don´t know what I`m doing wrong. Running setup64.exe stops with
"An error occured while trying to create a file in the destination directory."
Destination folder/directory ist c:\ProgramFiles\WYSIWYG Web Builder 17
Don´t know what to do now, confusing. Need some help to restart from the beginning.

Regards
J.V.

This is most likely related to permissions.
- make sure you install the update as administrator
- make sure your firewall or virus-scanner is blocking the update
- make sure Windows ransomware protection does not block the update

Hi Alan,
Hi to the experts,

when clicking and starting setup64.exe WIN 10 asks to enter the admin password. That´s okay then.
Setup starts! and a few seconds later the crash occurs. :?
Maybe the mistake is somehow earlier right after the download: Actually I don´t know what I`m doing.
Get 3 files visible within the zip
1. readme
2. license
3. setup64.exe
Then what to do with these files :?:
  • Unzip these files to somewhere ?
or
  • Copy and paste these three files to somewhere ?
or
  • run setup64.exe immediately there ?
I think it might be a folder problem! Can´t follow and don´t understand what WWB17 is doing or wants to do after clicking setup64.exe. :(

Before running the setup you will need to unzip the files first.
For example, to your desktop or a temporary folder.
After unzipping the file you can click setup64.exe

Hi Pablo,
  • yesterday I uninstalled WWB17.0.4 – absolutly confused.
  • Today I installed WWB 17.0.2 which I purchased early November; a special offer for registered customers.
  • Installation successful
  • Then found and installed wb17x64update for advanced users!
Now WWB 17.0.5 is up to date and is fine!!
Don´t feel like an advanced user after all this confusion
Anyway, I still don´t understand the context and correlation.
