File download button

Post by mccs »

I need a download button. A shape (link entered to the file 'test.txt', which exists on the server in root) shows the text of the file in the browser.
However, I don't want to display it, I want to download it.

How do I do this? Tried the help in the forum. Apparently others have the same problem.
There are solutions in the forum, e.g.

here: https://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/links.html - "Link to a file (ZIP, PDF etc)"

here: https://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/forum ... 59#p428659

But it don't work. Who has a step by step solution? Thank you!

There are no known issues with links otherwise this would have already been fixed.
The article you are referring to is almost 3 years old.

What is the exact problem?
Where does it stop working for you?
Do you have an example?

Hi Pablo,

that's my problem-link:
http://fotoclub-singen.de/wb2021_.txt
or try:
http://fotoclub-singen.de/BildDesJahres-2021.html and then click 'Download Textdatei'

https://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/forum ... 79#p453579
shows 'a simple way'
step 4..6 are the/my problem.
filename: 'your pdf file location here' is now 'http://fotoclub-singen.de/wb2021_.txt' (on server).

Thank you for your quick answer!

Best regards

The link works for me.

However, the website is not secure (https). So some browsers may block the download link for security reasons.
This has nothing to do with the software.
