Why does this page *NOT* have black-boxes on its Photo Gallery:
http://s905202515.onlinehome.us/strange.php
?
Yet in contrast, this page *DOES* have black-boxes on its Photo Gallery:
http://s905202515.onlinehome.us/brantley.php
?
But that *FIRST* one actually has *MORE* photos packed into it. So it's not a "number of photos" issue.
Here's my project-file, with both of these pages in it:
http://s905202515.onlinehome.us/proj.zip
And you can look in the sub-folder in that project if looking at image-*SIZES* may help answer questions about these black boxes on this Photo Gallery. I've got about 5 more pages to create, and they're all gonna have Photo Galleries, and so I need to know exactly how *NOT* to make these black boxes show up as an error, or whatever?
*SOLVED* Why black-box errors on 1 PhotoGallery, not another

Re: Why black-box errors on 1 PhotoGallery, not another
Maybe something went wrong during publishing?
For example, maybe the web space is full?
When I publish the pages of your project then it works for me. So, I think your settings are OK.

Re: Why black-box errors on 1 PhotoGallery, not another
@Pablo: This problem with the thumbnail images being blackened also happening on many of the sub-pages here now, not just the one I mentioned:
http://s905202515.onlinehome.us/portfolio.php
(some of these pages have the blackened, error thumbnails; and some of the pages don't have the blackened, error thumbnails and it all works fine)
And I've published many different pages, many different times..? Has anyone else experienced this issue and have any insights?
I called the web-host, and the only thing they could figure *MAY* be because as I am publishing to this system domain, I cannot have SSL turned-on, on this site. *BUT*, I have been using SFTP to publish this project.
Is there anything in my settings you noticed that may be related to this non-SSL / using SFTP to publish this project that may be causing this problem..? I'm just trying to consider something happening "during publish process", like you mentioned. But I'm nowhere near any space limits, I asked the web-host that specifically, and also asked them to trouble-shoot what is going on on their end, too. Maybe a memory issue..?

Re: Why black-box errors on 1 PhotoGallery, not another
Could it have anything to do with that option you can change, whereby you can make the thumbnails either "Absolute" or "Relative"? That is, since images are considered either "Portrait" or "Landscape", I know one of the thumbnail options you can set for the Gallery is that it either just creates one-size-fits-all static height-width-resolution thumbnails; or it can relatively decide, image-by-image, what each thumbnail's height/width-resolution is, based on each image's aspect-ratio. Maybe that deciding process is eating up too much memory..? I'm just spit-balling, here.

Re: Why black-box errors on 1 PhotoGallery, not another
Got it figured out! The web-host technicians told me that it was a file-path / image-path issue. So I guess something like, the site was trying to load the " tn_ " - prefixed image-names; and sometimes it was pulling in the images, sometimes not. So what I just tried was turning off the "Generate thumbnail images" option republished the Brantley page, and it would appear to work!
Can someone help me understand the logic behind this whole
thumbnail images - yes or no?
Paradigm? Like, what are the [space/memory/speed] trade-offs here? Is it that if you set the " create tn_ " images, you make the little thumbnails load faster, therefor you make your page load faster? But if you turn off that option and just load the actual images themselves as the thumbnails, you run the risk of your Gallery and that Page taking longer to load?
Just trying to grasp everything better.

Re: Why black-box errors on 1 PhotoGallery, not another
Well, never mind. I've now deleted-out temp files, and refreshed page, and the black-boxes are happening again.
Still need help, please.
I really think it's something to do with the .WBS-level things. Because I'm noticing that whenever I am in the .WBS program, and I double-click on a Photo Gallery and look at the thumbnail images, there in the chooser dialogue box that's the Properties for "Photo Gallery", sometimes there's just a blank spot, for *ME* to see, here on my workstation. Is this a local-memory thing..? Here's a screenshot to illustrate:
http://s905202515.onlinehome.us/screen1.png
I'm using a 32-Bit version of the WB software.
Is any of this possibly relevant?

Re: Why black-box errors on 1 PhotoGallery, not another
I would still like help, regarding using this Photo Gallery object set as "Light Box Gallery" and "magnificpopup" because I am not understanding why this is happening.
But in an effort to maybe try to bypass this black-thumbnail-error problem on the Photo Gallery >> Light Box Gallery >> manificpopup , can someone else suggest another way of performing a gallery that looks like this gallery that exists on this page:
https://www.jkhatchercustomhomes.com/brantley
While I'd like to stick to this "Light Box Gallery" and "magnificpopup" , if y'all can help me identify a Clickable Gallery like what exists on this page: https://www.jkhatchercustomhomes.com/brantley ; and use it for this other website on which I am now working, I would be open to changing..?

Re: Why black-box errors on 1 PhotoGallery, not another
UPDATE ..... yet again (I am sorry ; I understand if you're gonna want to trim this thread, or whatever. I'm just trying to post progress in case anyone else runs into this type of thing, so they can see the journey of trouble-shooting, possible directions, ways to think about it, etc. )
I'm starting to think that this whole problem boiled down to my having
- too big of a parent-layer holding the Photo Gallery child-objects that I've been over here trying to trouble-shoot and edit and change, etc.
- too big of a page-height size pixels, on different of these pages; and
and that either (or both) of these oversized parent-layers, and oversized page-height pixel settings was making the browser, or the software, or the web-hosting, or whatever "Work too hard" and "try to load too much" which was cutting into displaying "Everything" on screen, so maybe it sort of output the black-box as errors because it could not load everything on-page.
Doing edits now, and testing live; but thinking this may have been the issue the whole time.

Re: Why black-box errors on 1 PhotoGallery, not another
Does the gallery work in local preview?
If yes, then it's a server related issue.
Your demo project works for me, so I do not think you will need to change your settings.
