Problem with new update 17.3

Post by Paul »

Hello,

I noticed that the new update 17.3, does not load extensions that we have in their extension name "-" dashes.

Example an extension name "jQuery-LittleTIP.wbx" does not load in the software.

The latest update does not have any changes related to extensions.
This version supports the same extension names as before.

Maybe something else on your computer has changed?

Hi
I also notice 17.3 (32 bit) does not load all extensions, specifically some [RZ] extensions.
I have returned to the previous version to avoid this.

Yes it appears to be extensions with a hyphen in the name that don't load.
rz-simple-linear-menu and rz-button-ghost are 2 that do not load

The 17.2 update is working fine. No change in my operating system. This problem must come from your update.

I was not able to reproduce this behavior.
For me, extensions with dashes load without any issues.

What are the exact steps to reproduce this behavior?

@Paul and gramme can you both rename the extensions in question by removing the dash and try again. Unfortunately both developers cannot do this for you as [rz] is no longer with us (passed away)and Adendum is no longer active in the forum.

I strongly doubt that this is related to the filename of the extension. I think it's related to the extension itself. For example, it may have been created with a very old version of Extensions Builder, which was not compatible with 64bit.

Are you using the 32bit or 64bit version?
If you are using the 64bit version of version 17.2, do you see the extensions in the toolbox?

Sorry attachments are not allowed. You can of course just upload to your own site or to the likes of Mediafire and in both instances provide a link to download from or it may be best to email Pablo direct.

You do not have to reinstall extensions. They work the same as before.

@Graham, Thanks for sending the files.
However, the extensions load without any issues for me.
I do not it’s related to the name of the extensions.
Because if you reinstall the extension then it still has the same name, right?

Also, ’reinstall’ does not change the software or the extension. If the extension is in the same folder then there is no difference compared to before ‘reinstall’ ?

Maybe you have accidentally changed the system folder, so WWB cannot find the files?

One thing I noticed is when I copied the files to the extensions, I did get a warning from my virus scanner.
So, maybe your virus scanner is blocking access to the files?

I saw that there was a new version 17.3. I installed this version and now I have access to the extensions. I'd like to know what was causing him to deny access to the extensions.

Merci

The problematic extensions were created with an old version of Extension Builder.
This caused an issue with licensing.
