Menus with 2 or 3 sub levels

Post by luishmpaulo »

Hello.
I already found out that the bootstrap menu can only have one sub level, OK. But is there any menu that on mobiles is hamburger and supports 2 or 3 sub levels?

The built-in Dropdown menu and Responsive menu support multi levels.

I'm building a website that features several product lines, so I need a menu with 2 or 3 sub levels. This is not a problem on the desktop, all menus work fine, but when on mobile the "hamburger" opens the menu and in the menu I can only see the 1st sub-level. If I click to see the 2nd sub-level the menu closes, it goes back to hamburger.

Maybe you have added a link to the main item?
A main item cannot be a link and a trigger for a sub menu at the same time.

What pablo means is the main button (heading button) that triggers the drop down should not have a link attached to it. The main button cant trigger the drop down and also have a link to a page as this will not work on touch devices.

Hello! There is no link on the main button (heading button).

The menu structure is quite simple (example):

menu items
1-Home
1-Products
------2-geomembrane
------------3-colorful (link to page)
------------3- HDPE (link to page)
------------3- LLDPE (link to page)
------------3-textured (link to page)
------2-geotextiles
------------3- something (link to page)
------------3 -something (link to page)
...
------2-tubes
-------------3-something (link to page)
-------------3-............ (link to page)
------2-Films (link to page)
------2-Others (link to page)
1-The company
------2-Geomembrane Geosynthetics (link to page)
------2-Construction (link to page)
1-Contact (link to page)

On desktop, no problem, but on mobile I can only see the (1) first level (Home, Products, Company, Contact). If I click on one of them, nothing happens...
I already tried with Dropdown Menu and Responsive Menu and the result was the same.

I suggest to enabled 'click to open sub menus' because mobile devices do not have 'hover'.

I enabled "click to open", but it still doesn't work on mobile, neither in Chrome nor in Safari.

Detail: on my website (ophicina.net.br) I use Dropdown menu with sublevels and it works on mobile without any problems!

I copied the menu from my site and put it on this client's site and it stopped working...

Would it be some "conflict" with something (some script, code...) in this new site?

Have you refreshed the browser and emptied cash files for all browsers?

It works for me.
What is the URL of the published page?
How do I reproduce this issue?

Try this (test only):

https://ophicina.net.br/geo5/

Works OK on desktop, doesn't work on mobile.

It looks like you still have the menu open on hover.
As mentioned, mobile devices do not have hover functionality, so that will not work.

Did you use some kind of minimize tool, because the code of the page is a mess?
Can you please publish the page without any third party scripts and 'optimizations'?

Note: if you have a problem with a menu (or anything else), then create a DEMO projetc with only that menu.
Otherwise there is no way to know if the problem is with the menu or if it is caused by something else.

I use "minimize" only in the Options menu/HTML, native on WYSIWYG.

No external code or scripts.

The code of the page was modified after it was published with WWB.
This is not standard WWB output.

I believe we had this same discussion before...

Are you sure you didn't??? from looking at the source which is a mess big time! looks like someone has opened externally and modified. I can see references to google tag manager, Html3 and pagespeed... so if you didn't add this who did?

And please don't laugh as you did in the thread posted by Pablo...viewtopic.php?t=90898 it is not funny having to sort your issues when it not related to the software but with you adding code you don't understand how to use and expect Pablo and other to help fix...

Well, whatever it was, I gave up looking for the problem. I restarted building the site from scratch, created the index and the master, published it in the test area and the menu now works correctly.

Re: Menus with 2 or 3 sub levels

Post by luishmpaulo »

Good morning gentlemen.
Firstly, I would like to say that if "I laughed" at any post it was about my own ignorance regarding programming, HTML language and these subjects, I wasn't making fun of anyone, quite the contrary, I believed that the Forum is a friendly place where who know more help those who know less (or almost nothing, like me). Am I wrong?
I was an advertising executive with an MBA in Marketing and several specialization courses in these areas, in addition to more than 15 years working in these areas in large companies. One day I got tired of corporate life and launched myself into a solo endeavor, offering marketing and advertising services.
However, the demand for creating websites was huge and, in order not to lose clients, there was no time (or desire, I confess) to learn HTML and programming. So I scoured the web looking for tools that would allow me to serve my clients (with website creation) as quickly as possible. I tried DreamWeaver but found it too complicated, I tried WordPress but it didn't work out for me.
It was then that I found WYSIWYG WB and finally managed to start serving my customers, even without knowing a single line of code. I'm forever grateful to Pablo for that, without him and WB I wouldn't have the customer base I have today.
I will continue using WB (I closed deals for 3 more websites) and, inevitably, I will run into some obstacles that, I hope, I can count on the benevolence of those who inhabit the Forum and know much, much more than I do.
And finally, it is worth mentioning that there is also the language barrier - my English is a bit rusty and this post reaches you via Google Translate.
If my posts bother you, please ignore them.
