New User

Post by northstar »

I am a new user of WYSIWYG Web Builder. I am transitioning from Serif Web Plus 8 to WYSIWYG. After getting used to the new interface, I have found the program very beneficial and understandable. While I am not in the profession of website building and still have a lot to learn about the professional terminology and responsive website building, I have been able to make a copy of my old website in the new program. My skill level at the moment allows me to only work in a "static" site (objects and text pinned in location and not responsive to screen size), but I am excited by the product and will dig in to learn more.

If anyone has suggestions, resources or other ideas on how to quickly learn WYSIWYG, please do not hesitate to post to me. Just remember, the tech-speak may have to be broken into simpler terms for me to grasp.

Thank you so much. And thanks to the developer of this software in that it picks up where Serif left off.

BaconFries,
Thanks, I had included a link to Dapson's YouTube channel in my post but somehow deleted it before I posted. His channel was a very big help for me when I was getting started. I also read the majority of the online tutorials from the Wizzy website.
Have a great week!

I would suggest downloading some of the responsive templates and digging into them to basically reverse engineer the way WWB works in the responsive environment. Also the help files are a great resource. And don't forget the right mouse button and it's associated menus - a lot of useful info and item specific options show up there. But as was already pointed out this forum is a wealth of info and howtos for not only the new guys but the old hands as well. After a while you will catch on to the program and logic and your skill level will grow exponentially.
Good luck and welcome.

Like you I came from Serif WebPlus 8. And like you I started with non responsive sites. But I soon learned about layout grids.

I've done a template you can download and start using here viewtopic.php?t=93336 - it's free, and please ask questions.

Welcome new user. As everyone has suggested, it would be better if you from the beginning try to learn responsive web design and development. Try to take the time not too quickly but try to understand every tool and how to design with it slowly and step by step. Good luck and any questions are welcome.
