Hi all, do we have an Extension or object my fellow WB-users use in your .WBS projects that's sort of a "Share this page on social media" ribbon, with, say, little icons for facebook, Pinterest, twitter/X, etc; such that the end-user can hit the icon to "Share" it as a post on a corresponding social media account into which they're logged?

See the following
Pablo wrote: In 'Ready-to-use-Javascript' there is a "FaceBook share button" There are also links to twitter, linked etc.
And you can add a link to images, buttons, icons etc.

Re: "Share on social media" ribbon links
BaconFries — I appreciate the Ready-to-Use Javascript to see what's available. I'm thinking I want a longer string of icons for more social media platforms beyond the "biggies" like Meta/facebook and twitter/X. So I don't know — does anyone around here "make your own" "Share this" type of buttons..? I mean, can it work as easily as just
1) going onto your social media platform,
2) hover'ing over or right-clicking and snagging the URL of the "Share" button on a specific post that has been completed from your profile,
3) packing that into simply a little icon of, say Pinterest, or LinkedIn, or whatever clickable image object within WB and set it to "Open in new window"?
4) and then just park a bunch of these icons programmed/built in this way in a line? that way, it's a line of little social media icons, and theoretically, that "Share" URL you pull from their platform should do it?
Is that a way to make one's own? Just wondering what other WB'ers do, especially for websites with articles, where you want to make it easy for the end-user to exactly share the article on an array of social media icons listed there.
Shall I make a new topic and we move it to "Off Topic"..?

Re: "Share on social media" ribbon links
No no need to make a new topic. Did you look at the two examples? the second url shows a list/long row of social media icons to the right is this not what you need?.
Re: "Share on social media" ribbon links
@BaconFries - Yes, looked at it, and visually it looks fantastic. But after I saw it, I thought 2 things:
1) since they weren't live-links I couldn't tell if those were supposed to just be static links to a certain *page* on the corresponding social media account; as opposed to an actual attempt to Write the Post and share *this* specific article I'm on at that moment. I'm moreso looking for the latter - not just a link to someone's profile at a platform; but sort of a teed-up auto "Share this page I'm surfing from my own Meta/facebook account right now"
2) to me, it looked like the Ready-to-Use JavaScripts I found looked different than that string of platforms on that page. Like, it looked like the Ready-to-Use JavaScripts has a few different platforms, but I'm also wanting to do it for other lesser-known platforms than the biggies.

Re: "Share on social media" ribbon links
@BaconFries — I apologize, I don't know what I was thinking: Is this one of those things where there's a .zip file somewhere, with that (demo) website as a .WBS file, such that I can reverse-engineer it? I know WB was doing that at one time—is this one of those? If you could point me to that, I'd love to see under the hood.

@etcbbu Sorry for the late...late reply I was away for a few days. You can download the following template and install and as you say reverse engineer it to see how the social icons where applied. Note don't be put of by the template reads for wb12 it is still compatible with WB18.

Re: "Share on social media" ribbon links
@BaconFries — No problem at all! I was able to successfully open the demo with WB12. And I clearly see the various social media object images packed into a "Layer". So I get that part of it. But the options of each of the individual social media objects say the objects are called "Merged Objects" (?) .
Furthermore, when I try to Copy/Paste the Layer that holds the various social media icons/pics—as well as if I try to Copy/Paste the actual individual social media icons—I get an error and am unable to Copy/Paste the objects over into the .WBS project in WB18 on which I want to use them; also, when I try to open the demo .WBS file in WB18, I get the "Failure to open document" error. And I can't seem to find the objects called "Merged Object" in my toolbox in WB18. Do I just simply use an "image" object for each one of the social media icons and pack them into a Sticky Parent Layer, and then set the CSS3 Animation Transitions exactly on those images like each one of the icons has them in the demo WB 12 project?
So, I can't quite figure out how to get a "Merged Object" into my-up-and-live .WBS project in WB18 in which I want these icons. But once I do, I just crank the URL into the link, correct? And does anyone have suggestions on how to generate those URLs of "Share this on the corresponding social media account"? Like I say, is it just best to post a stand-alone link to the .PHP article as a post on Social Media; and then try to Copy the "Share" link from on the platform, and *THAT* is what you pop into each of the individual social media icon links? Again, because I'm not just trying to link the end-user to the the account on the various platforms with these social media links packed into this Sticky Layer. That is *not* what I am trying to do. I am trying to construct actual "SHARE THIS" for each one of the social media icons to hare this .PHP page / article on the end-user who has the social media account, and wants to share the article *specifically*. Not just "link to being at my account on the platform". Just wondering how my fellow WB'ers do this type of thing.
Another question I have in preparing all this — do you think that when I configure the Parent-Layer that will hold these several social media links, setting the Layer to "Sticky" , "Top-Right" will still be the best bet in WB18?
