SEO warning HTTPS Redirect
SEO warning HTTPS Redirect
Hi guys. Working with SEO on my latest project https://www.klipparservice.se. Having SSL encryption activated for the domain on the server I'm somewhat confused what to do with this warning:
HTTPS Redirect
Your page does not redirect to a HTTPS (SSL secure) version.
Any one know what to do... shall it be done on server or in wwb software?
tnx

Re: SEO warning HTTPS Redirect
Where do you get the warning? When I visit the http version it does redirect to https.

Re: SEO warning HTTPS Redirect
Hi jerryco... when I am checking th page in https://www.seoptimer.com/
Re: SEO warning HTTPS Redirect
Redirection from http to https is always done on the server via the .htaccess file and not in WB.
Re: SEO warning HTTPS Redirect
Hi crispy, was my assumption to, before I got this warning when checking. Any clue why they give me this answer?
Re: SEO warning HTTPS Redirect
Not really sure. It seems to be redirecting as far as I can tell. I would test it thru other places to see if you get the same results. Personally, if it's redirecting properly, I would just ignore that flag.

Re: SEO warning HTTPS Redirect
How are you receiving this? asking as when I type the url with just http:// I get took to https:// without any warning. Are you sure that the SSL certificate is still valid? One of the flags you are also getting is missing canonical links Google throws a bit if a tantrum (errors) if thus is not showing see the following url below. You could setup a .htaccess 301 redirect on your server and see if this resolves this or simply ignore as mentioned by crispy68

Re: SEO warning HTTPS Redirect
Also get this flag:
HTTP2 Usage
Your website is using an outdated HTTP protocol.
We recommend enabling HTTP/2+ or protocol for your website as it can significantly improve page load speed for users.
Have no clue how to handle this

Re: SEO warning HTTPS Redirect
HTTP/2 is simply the latest version of HTTP. You will need to contact you server/host provider to ask for it to be turned on or is supported by what version of Apache they are running.Have no clue how to handle this
This should help explain its use in more detail. Personally if your pages are loading fast now and you are happy with this apart from what you have already mentioned I wouldn't fret (worry) to much about it. Note I don't have any issues with your site loading

Tnx a lot Bacon. I managed quite good before I took help from "seoptimer". There are some other issues to, but as you said... maybe not "fret" to much about itBaconFries wrote: ↑Sun Oct 08, 2023 3:56 pmHTTP/2 is simply the latest version of HTTP. Re: SEO warning HTTPS Redirect
A breaf follow up:
The reason why I was starting to update and modify SEO settings on this site was from the beginning that it had disappeared from Googles Search index? I was very confused by this. I was looking for all kind of reasons and started to change the seo settings that had worked quite well until now. Started to check with sites like seoptimer etc and changed more and more until the limit it was a chaos
But after a day and some seo-dreams at night I checked the html of the page and discovered that the robot was set to "no follow" ?? Then checked in Google Search console and clearly all my pages except for 3 was setted to "No follow". This 3 pages was not using the masterpage of the site, so I start to check the masterpage that I had cleaned up the SEO settings on because its not published and made the meta information appear dubble on the pages.
When doing this I had accidently ticked no follow on the robot for the masterpage instead of leaving this setting empty. So this setting was applied on all pages that used the robot. But after correcting this I have to wait 2-3 days for Google to index the pages again... hope it will be fixed today
Maybe can help someone that slips with the fingers like me
Also not to forget... I have learned some more about the SEO djungle, so it was not for nothing
