Master page not displaying correct in preview

Master page not displaying correct in preview

I have a master page with a layout grid set as the header, a content place holder then another layout grid for the footer
it displays correct in the program but when previewed the header is over the placeholder and up under the header

the header layout grid is set to flexbox fluid and floating

the footer is set to default grid system fluid setting on layout and floating for the position

it previews correct when previewing it on a page though

Do you have the content placeholder set to floating also?

If you are previewing the master page, then there is nothing in the content placeholder so the header will be on top of it. There's essentially nothing there.
