is it possible to recover site project from published site on server

unless you selected to Make a Complete Copy of the Project from the Backup option on the Publish Website dialog, you have the site code published but not the project. you can't recover the project.

If you haven’t done so from the mentioned then it is possible to import the page(s) only by using the import feature note this will only ever bring in the text and images used no scripts, extensions or custom code. See the following Import HTML
