Hi all,
Does anyone have a strong recommendation for a hosting service in Canada with servers located in Canada?
All feedback is much appreciated.

Thank you.
Good information there, great starting point for my evaluation.
Only 2 seem to have servers in Canada, makes things a bit easier.

Thank you for this recommendation.
The fact you are using it as a WWB user I assume FTPing your projects to the server is a no brainer.
May I ask if they support the latest versions of PHP with CURL and also MySQL/Marie DB?
Which hosting plan did you subscribe to?
TIA
Regards

Good Morning pmacdonald
Few things I like about HostPapa from my Canadian perspective.
Support is spectacular ... I also am busy and don't have a lot of time sitting on Chats ... HostPapa response time, so far, is awesome. They also have phone and email support ... very impressed with their team .. they always go above and beyond.
Their email system using Roundcube webmail seems to have a good web reputation so my clients are getting their emails and I have not had any negitive feedback.
Pricing is middle of the road but support was my priority decision.
Pricing is in CDN $ so no exchange rates for me.
Company and servers located in Toronto area.
I have multiple hosting packages and am using the PREMIUM/PRO for each one.
I have a bunch of PHP/MySql scripts running and have no issues but for specific tech questions I would suggest to go to www.hostpapa.ca and use their chat and/or phone number.
FTP is not an issue ...
When I was checking out Canadian companies I was primarily concerned with support response times. I used their Chat and within an hour I recieved a phone call, chatted with the person who answered all my questions and decided to move forward.
Just my input ... and hopefully this helps in your research ...

Re: Hosting Recomendation - Canada
It depends ...
For starters, trying to sort through all the options available is a major headache, so I feel for you. 90% of hosts are low quality or oversell themselves in what's become a very saturated market. Many big webhosts are great if you post recipes on a personal blog - not for business.
Over a week, I spent a significant amount of time updating myself with hosts a few months ago. I work with a lot of clients so changes like this are a big deal.
If you need something on the basic end where shared hosting would be ok - I would use Hostarmada. They have a data center in Toronto. I put them at the top for shared hosting and performance; their support service is excellent. G2 recommends Hostinger - they are a market leader that I tried, but I prefer working with Cpanel, and Hostinger pushes their own control panel. They also don't offer a data center in Canada.
I recommend using Amazon web services or Digital Ocean if you need something more advanced. Just know that both require technical knowledge.
p.s. - most of those hosting review sites really seem to be more like affiliate link sites instead of genuine reviews. That's just my personal opinion though.
