Font changing

Post by Mauly »

I have a page with two simple text boxes side by side with exactly the same properties, font and font size, but when displayed the font in one is smaller than the others. I'm at a loss here as I'm new to web building. Any help would be appreciated.

The URL of the page is https://www.rainberryvillas.com/The_Board.html

The block of text to the right of Joe is smaller than the others even it's the same font size in my project.
Thank you

Hi Mauly. Probably you got formatting from the document you copied the text from so it corrupts the formatting you performing in wwb. To fix this, clear formatting from text before you paste it in to wwb.
Always good to attach a copy of your project...

There is most likely a conflict in the settings of the text object.
For example, The output format is set to 'Use <p>' but you did not enable responsive fonts.

If you need further assistance then please share DEMO project

I'm afraid I'm still stuck. Here is a link to the demo project

https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/45t1or5j ... 0fdtq&dl=0

Please look to the bottom of the page. There is a text block with the title "Gate Crashers". When I view this on the web the text of this block is about 5 points larger than the other text blocks in the project but they are all in the same size font.

Thank you for your help

It seems to look correct for me.

Maybe you will need to clear your browser's cache?

Hmmm, I maked the font of the "gate Crashers" text box 15 pt. Now it looks smaller in the project but it appears roughly the same size as the 20 pt. text in the text block above it "Guard's Resident Database". Since the font is getting smaller in the web view, I believe that means it's not loading a cached version. But just to be sure, I cleared my browser's cache (Chrome) and I tired viewing it with FireFox. Same problem.

I appreciate any insite you can give me.

I have had issues where some text, usually a space, was hiding in the text edit box that was a different font size and caused problems/overrode my "real" text. Had the same issue with editors with CMS software. If you enter the text box to edit and use CTRL-A to make sure you have selected ALL, then apply your format again.

I do not see the problem in the project you have shared.
Are you using the latest update of the software?
If yes, then what exactly do I need to do to see the issue?

I fixed the problem by deleting the text block, inserting a new text block and retyping the text. I was avoiding that because I was hoping to learn what I was missing.

The font looks perfect when viewed in WYSIWYG but when I publish it and view it, the font in only one of the text boxes was considerably larger than the others.
When editing, WYSIWYG shows the text in all the text boxes on that page is 20 pt. arial. When I 'view 'page source' in Chrome it shows HTML code at the beginning of the block with the bigger font is 32 pt.

I've selected all the text in the block and changed the size and font and them changed it back but it keeps increasing automatically when I publish or view.
It's has to be something simple that's overriding the font size on only one text box but it's beyond my comprehension.

Thanx for your help. Hopefully I'll never see that problem again.

I have just upgraded to WWB19 and am experiencing the same problem with font size changing. Remarkably, this happens on my computer, but not on another computer.

I have created a small test project, with just two text blocks in Arial 12pt. Same problem, the generated html file on Chrome changes this the font to Arial 16 pt, causing the text blocks to overlap (no longer WYSIWYG).

I do not see how I can attach files (test project, screen shots) in this forum, but it is easy enough to create the test of course. Here is my published test page: https://www.garoon.nl/fontsizetest.html

Thanks for your attention or any help.

I am not sure if this is the same issue.
It sounds like a DPI configuration issue.

This is indeed the correct solution. I enabled High DPI support, restarted WWB and the problem was solved.
Many thanks for the quick help! :D
