Client Win

Post by Rob »

Reason # 331 why I love my desktop website builder as opposed to WordPress or anything web-based...

Short story - because the website is automatically backed up on my desktop.

Long story (and not the first time a client of mine has been through this)....

I normally set up hosting under my clients name, in case I get hit by a bus, they maintain control over their domain name and hosting. The host is usually good about reminding the client on when a service will auto-renew or if a credit card expires. Where the rub comes in is does the client log into their account to update the credit card or not. If not, the hosting expires. And if expired for too long, the online backup provided by the host disappears. That's where I come in.

Client called, hosting expired. Website gone. What do I do? Repurchase hosting and reupload the website I had backed up - easy.
