The official release of WYSIWYG Web Builder with MCP support is planned for release later this year.
We have been testing this version for the last couple of months, and we think it is almost ready for release. However, because this is a very large update, we want to make sure we have not overlooked anything important.
So, if you are an experienced WYSIWYG Web Builder user and would like to try the new version before the official release, the public preview is now available for download.
You can download the preview here:
https://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/prerelease/webbuilder21x64preview.zip
By default, the preview installs into a separate folder, but it shares the same configuration as your existing installation.
Important: this version updates the project file version. Once you save a project with this preview, you will no longer be able to open that project in an older version of WYSIWYG Web Builder. So, please make a backup of your project before opening and saving it with the preview version.
For an introduction to MCP and instructions on how to configure it, please see the tutorial here:

If you decide to try the preview, please let me know if you run into any issues. Your feedback will help us fix problems before the final release.
More than just MCP
Although MCP and AI integration are major parts of this update, this release also includes many other improvements. So even if you do not plan to use MCP, it may still be useful to give the preview a try.
Some of the other improvements include:
- Improved: AI text-to-website and image-to-website now use the same underlying route as the MCP integration. This means that basically all features exposed through MCP are also available to AI website integrations that use APIs.
- Improved: HTML importing has been updated with support for more elements.
- Improved: Text links now use the active link color instead of generic blue. While editing, links are still intentionally rendered in blue.
- Improved: Redesigned Property Inspector, with many properties added that were previously only available through dialogs.
- Improved: Optimized workspace scrolling for large pages.
- Improved: Optimized alpha blending of extensions in the workspace.
- Improved: Optimized Google Fonts URL generation for more reliable loading, including corrected weight and subset parameters, properly ordered variable-font axes, and updated font metadata.
Plus many other internal improvements and optimizations.
Please keep in mind
This is still a preview version, so there may be bugs, missing functionality, or unexpected behavior.
If you run into any issues, please let me know. It would be especially helpful if you could include:
- the steps needed to reproduce the problem;
- what you expected to happen;
- what actually happened;
- where relevant, the project file or AI prompt that caused the issue.
- also, take into account the documented limitations (see tutorial).
The more details you can provide, the easier it will be for us to reproduce and fix the problem before the final release.
And above all, have fun exploring and testing all the new possibilities in this powerful update!
