Hi Joe if you have a suggestion for a extension please try to provide a url that actully contains a download link for the script used. The reason for this is we cannot simply copy (scrape)the source code of the page as this is seen as stealing and will also infringe many copyrights.

Joe I have to agree with you. This is very cool and really should be part of WWB's legacy extensions.

Thanks Joe for this! :D

I've been searching for this kind of thing for a long time. Will implement it very soon (on my site - I'm not [yet?] an extension builder :cry: ).

Cheers!

There might be a compatibility issue here as it uses 1.8 of jQ. I could be wrong but BaconFries was making an extension from a code that was using 1.7 and that made the rest of WWB code unusable. Need to investigate.... :?

Stamjoe and bendigo,

Will anyway try to implement it and check the overall behaviour.

@Joe: as I said, I don't build extensions, I will anyway post a link here of the implementation :wink:

@crochepattes
just fyi, you will need to implement a lot of "dirty" tricks because of the way wb internally build the text objects.
these codes that you find around the internet are not so suitable for wb (also check the copyright notes).
i was trying a year a go this, but i think in may i will have something about this...
what you can do, is to adapt the generated code for the jquery slider, you already have a demo in the wb page.

This might be a WP plugin but it is nice. Full screen carousel. It might be copyrighted but the concept is nice.

Hi RZ!

Didn't understand, sorry, why you were taling about text objects with WB. My wish is to implement it (HTML objects and CSS file) in a page, just to see what we can do with it.

Do you some troubles doing this (or were you talking about the possible extension) ?

I know this guy (Malihu) is doing great things and I'm quite confident with the quality of the script.
But we'll see, of course, as you kindly warn :wink:

Cheers!

@crochepattes
what i meant is about the scrolling bars and the layers with text objects, all generated by wb.
there is no easy way to implement these custom scrolling bars codes you can find over the internet.
this is the reason i said "dirty" tricks...
just as an example, the texts are into divs, and these divs are into other div (the layer with the scrollbars); the codes you can find in the internet work in another way...
of course you can do, but need to make some works here and there...

@amrajadhyaksha although this is nice, as pointed out to stamjoe please try to provide a url/link to a script that can be used to make a extension, simply posting a url doesnt allow us to scrape the code from the HTML and make into a extension, this would be seen a stealing not to mention breaking any copyrights that the site may have.

Hi Joe,

As promised about this custom scroll bar script:
http://www.soslignes-ecrivain-public.fr ... slide.html

No extension yet but this proves it can easily be implemented (not seen any jQuery version trouble) in a WB project :wink:
CSS file is really 'open' and allows many many tweaks, it's awesome.

I was looking for such thing for a long long time...it's done :D

wanted to ask you a simple question. i just have noticed you did the scrollbar, didn't see your post...
a few weeks ago i was planning to redo/rewrite from scratch what i have and release it as an extreme lightweight scrollbar extension.

@bendigo
hi there!
well, i started to see what i did some time ago...
right now i resolved an opera's issue and i'm working on a minor compatibility issue in ff. also i did a workaround for ie7 and earlier...
crochepattes did a nice work, anyhow what i'm doing is writing the code as light as possible and not taking any 3rd party code in order to avoid copyright issues (i don't mean anyone did it!).
i'm polishing some code portions and i hope to be releasing an extension next week (hope crochepattes won't get offended, as i said, he did a nice work).

It uses a clever jQ/Ajax code to divide the screen into two and 2 simple bookmarks to go from one site to the other.

Hi All,
How many of the members here do you think would happy about a dynamic keyword based search extension with a unique result page? Because if the answer is "many" then it might be a good idea to find a way to create one.
What do you think?

Hi Joe,

Oops, I didn't see your post!

Yes, it's really awesome :D

Well, I just followed the instructions from the author.

Used File publisher object for scripts, CSS and the images (arrows) & 2 HTML objects (1 for the <div>s and 1 to load the scripts (<head> section)).

Please note that you must need a little knowledge of CSS as it requires (at least for me) many modifications to fit your needs.

Cheers!
