I set the background color in the layout grid to be a lighter color and the site properties to a dark color so when the webpage is centered, the space outside the width of the page is a darker color than the page. How do I set the main background to a different color?
I'm trying to relearn this after not using for 3 years, so apologize for annoying questions. Thanks
Site background color is using the page/layout grid color

Re: Site background color is using the page/layout grid color
The 'main background' is the page background. This can be set in the page properties. You said you changed the color of the grid background to a lighter color. Did this not achieve what you were looking for? If you are wanting only certain columns of the grid a different color, then you could either change the background color of each column you want or you can add a max-width to the grid but use a negative # (ex: -1600) for the max-width.
Re: Site background color is using the page/layout grid color
Thank you! The negative number worked for limiting the width
