Hi guys & girls,
Had a chat with Bacon Fries about this so he may have it on the way.
Got this link sent to me at work and wondered if it could be an extension.

I'm not a developer or coder so I have no idea. Looks like you guys have some great extension on the way. Keep up the great work!

Can this be made into an extension.

WB really needs some new nav with a bit of animation, you would need to make the buttons but that would be a small price to pay for this.

Here is a site that has various menus galleries and other things. Some javascript others jquery. Most of them are free but some do require a "donation"

Please note if you are asking for an extension, pls also direct us to the page where we can get the script/code to make the extension. Just showing a page will not work most of the time

Hi morgan ok I will say never say never it could be done as a extension but there are a couple of downsides to it ...one you need to be able to make your own navigation menu/buttons and this needs some experience with a graphics package not all users will have this knowledge most simply want what you would call "out of the box" extension place on the page and away you go....the other I found was getting sizes right for the menu buttons for in the script it took me a little bit of mucking around to get the effect on each mouseover just right ie the fade with mouse over effect that you get..the other side is that once you have made your buttons the font you use cant be changed easily as it is part of the menu meaning if you wanted a change of font you need to make a new set of buttons each time....but yes it could be made into a extension but I think it would cause some users that dont have the knowlede of making graphics to ask why isnt there buttons supplied, how do I make navigation menus etc....meaning a lot of explaining to users that dont have the knowledge that others may have to what is needed to make it work....just my pennies worth

Hello BaconFries, theres me thinking you had given this one a miss. I do understand that users will have to make their own buttons and that could be a problem. Is it an option to use the navbar buttons which are included in WB and still have the option for more advanced users to make their own. I believe this site uses this method
http://dragoninteractive.com/ just to show others what it looks like. Maybe this is a step to far for WB

As I already posted no it is not impossible but my concerns as a builder is can it be used by all...the answer maybe no! with this you the user will need to design and make all your own navigation menus fine if you know how but for users that have no experience in using a graphics package to make the navigation then it would be a problem. it not just a matter of using the extension and adding a couple of buttons that you have on PC and it would work for you need to use a graphics package to make them then insert into the extension. Lets say you need a navigation with 5 buttons then you need to make the navigation with 10 buttons... 5 on top 5 on bottom the 5 on bottom are what gives the effect on mousover so you can see if your not got a great experience with a graphics package this would be a issue with some users as they would be asking questions on how to use the package, how do I make my own buttons/navigation, how do I do this, etc etc meaning more time explaining how to make the navigation than actually needed.... I have already started to make as a extension but have put it on hold for these reasons I would rather see a extension that can be used by all than just some that have experience with design no offence is ment to anyone....
Below is just a quick example of what is needed as a naviagtion yer I know there will be some that say easy...only if you have the experience that not all have... morgan this was one that I thought could have been used for you...

BF do you think I can manualy put the code in and use your button image, or is an expert only mission

You can manually insert if you'd like to try it out... you know how to get me if you need me (although not a expert...) for anything I will be in and about as I have a paint brush tied to one hand at the moment...
