Hello,
As of now, if the visitor to your site types a non existent URL, he will be shown the default server page with the message “404 Page not found”
This is a simple extension that will allow you to have your custom made 404 ‘PAGE NOT FOUND’ page for your website. Now instead of the default 404 page that the server shows, you can have a custom self made page
Simply place this extension on the 404 page you created, edit the variable and upload

Thanks for that. A very useful extension that easily solves the age old problem of nasty looking 404 pages.
Thanks again

Did you upload your 404 page to the root?
Did you entered the correct 404 url in the extension including the pad\ge extension(html/php)?
DID you upload the 404 page + the extension as "Upload all"?

I see in Firefox and IE the custom 404 pages.
You have used .htaccess what wil work in every browser.

I need some clarification. In you pdf instructions you state:
"enter the error page name that you had created along with the extension example ‘404.php’."
Do you mean mypage.php or mypage404.php or something else altogether?
the extension .htaccess does not come into play here at all?

404.php name given is just an example. You can give your mpage any name and just enter that name with the page extension ...like :
myerrorpage.php
mypage404.php
mypage.php

Coming up shortly a combined extension for 404 and 403 response.
Trying to add 500 response too but for that the 500 page should be put on another server....looking for possibilities for that, else use my server for that
404 is for page not found
403 is for Forbidden
500 is Internal Server Error
Test demo of both:
404

Hi me.prosenjeet,
These little extras that may not be used very often give a site a professional feel. Blooming marvelous.
How is the 500 error going.

Hello Morgan,
On the contrary I feel, these "little extras" should always be added to the site, it makes them more professional.
For 500, I need to add the page on my server, but, the problem is, the page can only give a message that's all and can not be linked etc to custom sites- That's the issue

Sorry I dont mean to offend, what I ment was how often a 404 page is shown and yes these extras should be used.
