Fantastic extensions! Great work!

I'm trying to figure out how a particular site does inserts of slides into their images within the slideshow (and full screen).

If you have an inkling as to how they do it, I would love to know. The site is http://www.sothebysrealty.com/eng

Thanks for all your generous work!!! 5 stars

@bry
this extension works with a fixed background.
the link you provided to this site works with a proportional background but not fixed.
in this version you can have a long page, of course, with a footer, but the background image/slideshow won't scroll - just the content.
(i will think if i can "improve" the extension with more features.)

the images with links that appear over the background slideshow, are timed events, like the slideshow itself.

with this extension, if you use an image or a slideshow, you can put links to the image or to each image in the slideshow.

thank you for your kind words.

Here is what I have done with it. I haven't had time lately to improve it much - I want to put some floating layers on it - centered with menu on one.

http://www.test12.info/fullscreen/index ... ndemo.html

Thanks for looking and for any comments to improve... Don't pay much attention to the text - the wording is just demo's for clients.

I want to use your extension with that link. Or whether it is possible.

Opps, posted in wrong window. I want to use your layers extension with this look. It was related to the previous link couple of posts earlier - sotherbysrealty

no problem. anyhow your link is not related with the layers extension too...
you can make what you are planning with the fullscreen extension (links for download in the first post) in conjunction with the layers extension (viewtopic.php?f=42&t=45904).

Right click Centre In Page/Horizontal

or

create a docking layer dock top, auto overflow then put menu INSIDE this layer ;) :P

I understand the docking layer but do not understand what you mean by "right click...". Right click on what?

thanks

right click the menu ofc ;)

Oh, you mean horizontal center the page? I tried that but it didn't center the menu.

thanks

thanks FX3D for your support.

@bry
put the mouse pointer over the layer
right click
center in page
horizontal

(and do the same with the menu you put in the layer also you may need to set alignment->center in the layer properties)

Hello [RZ]

I am trying to use the extension with Header layer, but the layer doesn't show in preview mode. Any ideas?

Thanks a lot.

*****EDIT*****
Well, using this layer as "Docking Layer" "Dock top" does the job since the page doesn't scroll down in any resolution. But using the extension with being able to use a header will be great :)
Thanks :)

the issue is because of the center page option - the css method used.
i reported the case, unfortunately no-one supported me on this matter, so i gave up.
i tried to make many workarounds and extensions to bypass this, and of course some times appear some limitations.
so, if you want to have a header layer, please don't center the page.
i hope in the next wwb version the body layer container will be managed as a standard style instead of an id style. this is just my opinion, and seems that this is useful just for me... :(
a full explanation is beyond of this post.
anyhow, next week i'll be back, hope i can find the time to improve this if i can.
regards.

ps: as a temp workaround, i can tell you what you can do:
instead of using docked layers, you can still use the header layer type, just right click on it and select html,
in the custom style tab, add the following:
z-index:9999;
where 9999 is the highest z-index plus one; this number depends on how many objects your page has. anyway, 9999 will be fine, i can't imagine a page with 10k objects...

Thank a lot [RZ], I should have thought about this :) but since the doking top method worked fine, my mind stopped thinking :D

Well, I have a question, why don't you make a thread containing all your extensions without any details just links to their original threads? And -if possible- a zip file that contains all the zips for the extension, that would be really great as I really find your extensions extremely useful, so others can use them as well.

And, in your donation page, what if I use more than one extension? What shall I do? :D just kidding :)

Thanks a lot for the support man :) YOU ROCK :)

i think two things...
it is a good idea
but (always is a but)
other users may want the same
so, will be a lot of threads with extensions indexes...
and
an extensions index is already available.

on regards your donations' question you can do the following:
you can select "other" and enter the desired amount...
or you can make a donation for each one - hoping each one will be for a reasonable amount because paypal gets his %%% plus a fixed fee.
why you would be kidding?

Hehe I mean I use most of your extension, so my best choice is "Other" :)

Oh by the way, in the demo page, I can select the album from the bottom right navigation, how do you do that? I mean more than one slideshow and the slide effect.
Thanks :)

you can do this multiple slideshows background using the layers extensions.
use the prev/next extension.
add the slideshows you want (with the images you want in each one)
instead of pointing to yourlayerNo point to yourslideshowNo
(don't forget to add the proportional fullsize extension pointing to the slideshows, of course)
both simple and amazing, don't you think?

My problem was that I had not used the correct setting for likno menu. I needed to change a setting in likno to center it ref to the proportional full screen page.

Thanks much! I am really looking forward to studying your extensions. I think they offer some of the most exciting options for WB that I have seen in a good while.

I'm getting ready to use the fullscreen extension. I tried it on some pages that are already developed and had a problem.

So I guess I need to ask if it is possible to add this on top of all the design work of a page. The pages already have everything else in place including images, text and master layers. Is there a special process for adding the extension to pages that are already developed? Is it possible to do this?

Thanks much!

By the way, have you tested it on 8.5?

thanks

thank you for interest in this extension.

based on your description, i cannot understand exactly what your issue is.
i didn't experience any issue nor other users reported problems.
anyhow, trying to guess what's going on at your end, i suggest you the following:
1. design your page(s) as you usually do
2. because this extension is kinda-patch, put it over the other elements, i mean, put your background image (may be a slideshow object as well!) and then drop this extension and set it up to point to that element (you can move it to top via the object manager panel) you want to show in proportional/fullscreen mode

yes, you can add the extension on any page that was already developed; also it is compatible with wb 8.5.

hope you will soon be reporting good results.
regards

RZ...as usual, very cool extension. I'm awaiting the video background extension. That is going to fit something I'm working on verrrrrry nicely. Will it support local FLV video either when it comes out, or in the future?

Am I doing something wrong?

I placed an image on the page (image id 'indexImage1') size 940, 170
I opened this extension and changed 'Image' to indexImage1
I preview, but it doesnt show full screen but the image shows of the same size that it was in original

hello me.
if the image isn't changed to fullscreen, the only reason i can think is because the extension is not pointing to. (may be a missing prefix? may be a typo? can you send me a "problematic" sample project?)

thank you.
i got your reminder ;)
due to personal reasons, the extension is a bit delayed.
i'm working simultaneously with another one - sort of a responsive frame.
fyi am trying to make the video background not only for youtube; i will see if i can make a flv one (play fullscreen/proportional local videos). both require flash.
