The use of Free Scripts

With all the discussion about "Free" scripts being used to make extensions and then ask for a payment I decided to email one of the "Free" scripts authors FatFreeCart one of the scripts in Question....and I have had a reply...this is from the email recieved.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Fortunately, it appears that developer is not selling a copy of our actual software, but rather selling a plugin for their own site-builder/CMS platform to help manage FatFreeCart.com button codes and add those buttons to pages built in that platform -- i.e., users of this plugin would actually be using our own FatFreeCart.com free service as-is, and the plugin just makes it easier to add FatFreeCart buttons to a page, rather than having to paste and configure the FatFreeCart.com button codes manually in raw HTML code:http://www.fatfreecart.com/code.html

So it seems that they have no real issues with this being "wrapped" and made into a extenion and then to be sold...
