Hi Dear WWB Users,
Here's another extension I made.
This extension gives you the posibility to give a page about any width (in percentages form 50% to 100%) you want.
For more explanation and download go to : http://wwb-extensies.mijn-plaats.nl/Anywidth.html
Here's some text about the dos and dont's in resolutions
There's been written a lot about the most popular resolution for websites and also a lot of educated people did some investigation about it.
The result of it is that the most used resolution for websites is 1024 x 768 pixels.
Nice to know! In fact. I see it all as big time rubbish!
Where would we be if everybody kept stacked to what others do or think.
If we would do this then Benjamin Franklin was still playing whit fire being suprized about a lightning thunder. And William Bell was still playing with his tin cans on a rope.
So then we (and I) couldn't write a message like this, use the Internet or light a bulb.
For a fact.
These days people massively buy bigger monitors with higher resolutions. Although the most popular used web-resolution might be 1024x768 pixels, the most used screen resolution momentary is 1200x800 pixels and will be more soon (the next standard will be 1440 x 960pixels)
Imagine yourself with a monitor with a high resolution (for instance 1440x960 pixels).
Now imagine that the monitors size still is about 22” big.
Now go to the store and buy yourself a good set of glasses to view a site with a resolution of 1024x768 pixels!
In the nearby future users will not only demand more functions and interaction on a website. They also want higher resolutions in order to keep overview over everything they want.
And you know... maybe I'm wrong. But if I'm right I'll get the visitors in the nearby future who other will have to miss.
(this text was part of my thesis wich gave me the right to call myself a MSCIS (Master In Sience of Computer Information Systems) ).
