Weather widget

Post by bry »

I have been using Willy Weather as a weather widget with great success. But a new client wants a smaller but wider widget. I have searched all over for one with window 390 px horizontally and 170 px vertically but cannot find anything. They want to put it in the top right of header on every page. That is the reason for that size.

Any help??

Thanks!!

Thanks Zinc!!!

I will certainly try it. However, usually, extensions reduce the options that are otherwise available. And, (I will mention for your benefit since I read where you have built a site for travel) Willy Weather and all weather widgets for that matter are VERY simple to put on a page. (An extension is generally not necessary to make the process easier.)

I am interested in the extension and I do appreciate you bringing it to my attention. I did not know it was available.

Thanks again!

@bry
just fyi, all widgets can be simple or definitely not
many times the "official" information is inaccurate/ambiguous in some cases or does not deal with the many issues can happen (from my [adverse?] experience with them the list can be endless!)
in the past, i thought exactly like you; unfortunately i've been facing many problems because of their apparent simplicity
not always all is fully supported across browsers, devices, versions, etc and more etc
btw, extensions do not necessarily reduce functionality or limit the widget (on the contrary, well done extensions solve issues and facilitate the work)
just my cent

I certainly appreciate your opinion and it makes me very interested to try the extension. I will get to it this weekend and then compare without the use of extension. Thanks much! I hope you are right - that the extension will provide an option that I might not have noticed. I have already spent a couple of hours looking for a weather widget that will fit the size the client wants. I will let you know how it turns out.

bry the extension can only be viewed downloaded from [rz] personal site which you can visit by clicking on the first link in his signature. Note this is a pay for extension.

I need a widget to fit 200 px tall and 380 px wide. Will your extension do that?? They are more interested in filling a space with weather info than in content.

Oh, thanks BaconFries! I was wondering. If it isn't too much I will buy if it will fit. I have spent a ridiculous number of hours looking for the right display.

Thanks again!!! I hope all is well with you, my friend.
