.html extension for pages

i put my site through website to test for recommendations and some say try not to use. html
anyone enlighten me and should i change anything?

Tools -> Options -> Publish -> Hide file extension for internal links.

Please read the help before enabling this option!

ok tried it lost all pages, im obviously far from an advanced user. can find link to read up, so thought id give it a try.

could you send me where to read up before i do it, search for it but could get nothing

Did you read the help?

Contents -> Menu Options -> Tools Menu -> Options -> Hide file extension for internal links

contact host and they haven't a clue. i can see what happens but i can't configure a server to obtain the desired result.

The changes need to be made on the server side. This is not directly to the application.

When contacting your host ask them about the use of .htacess for hiding page extensions.
i can see what happens but i can't configure a server to obtain the desired result.
As before this is related to your host and they should advise you on how to implement or if they are worth there salt implement it for you.
Note: Reading from previous posts from yourself by doing this it wont give you any real advantage over your competition it mainly a cosmetic purpose to the url.
