Nested MasterPages?

Hi, just reading a bit the forum I found:

Master pages cannot be nested, becuase a HTML page can only have one body.

As stated on a recent thread you can have multiple Embedded Pages and a page can contain multiple Embedded Pages.

Mmmhh, maybe this is a problem of using the term 'Masterpge'. As I already wrote I have used so called nested Masterpages with my former Website generator. Have they regarded this term more from the state of Layout instead of html definitions?
I am not an html guru and will not be, I am just interested how to get a result.
So, I will have a look at ...
