Strange thing is happening

I have a code which has one part to be put between head and another part to be put inside body.
STAGE 1:
I open WB go to to page > page html and put the codes there as mentioned above
Do a preview, and the page looks perfect.
STAGE 2:
Now I use the same code inside extension builder placing them exactly where I did in the WB page
Add the extension on Wb page (inside a layout grid and also outside a layout grid) and the extension doesnt work, placement of objects gets disturbed.
Have a look atht eimages below and can you suggest what is going wrong and where.
