Menu keeps disappearing

I have a webiste with 2 breakpoints at 1024 and 640 pixels.
All pages share a common header, which has its own page which is then embedded in each page of the website.
The common header page only has 3 items. 1 small text block, one horizontal menu for the default and 1024 breakpoints and one vertical menu for the 640 breakpoint. The menus are set to be visible in the appropriate breakpoints.
Everything appears in the Web Builder editor on screen as I'd expect (see attached picture) but, when I publish the website, the 640 breakpoint menu keeps vanishing on some pages.
I can delete it on the embedded page and re-create it and it will work, but after a while, doing other edits, it vanishes again.
This page shows the correct menu in the top right:
http://kenmaynardglass.co.uk/test/contact.html
This page uses the exact same embedded page but the menu is missing:
http://kenmaynardglass.co.uk/test/index.html
Change the browser width to under 640 pixels to show the vertical menu.
Does anyone have any idea what's wrong?
Thanks.

I cannot see what you have done based on the published page.
To be able to help you, I need a demo project.

One thing I noticed is you have a breakpoint bigger than your default layout. Your default layout should always be the largest and then your breakpoints go down from there.
In your case, the default is set to 970 but you have a breakpoint of 1024. This is not correct. Fix this and it may fix your issue.
Also just for visual sense, set your breakpoints in order from left to right at the bottom. In the 'manage breakpoints', order them from largest to smallest. This will help in design.
FYI: I did not see your menu disappearing on page 3. Removing the 1024 bp should fix it.

Thanks for the reply.
where is the size of the default layout set? I don't see 970 anywhere.
The menu only disappears on some pages.
My Page3 was only added as a test because I thought it might have been the first page in the list, which was the Index page, which caused the problem but inserting Page3 didn't help.

I've tried a few things and there must be something I don't undserrstand.
I've made sure all the default page widths are bigger than the biggest breakpoint but it makes no difference.
However, if I set the breakpoint to 1023 or 1025 or anything other than 1024, it appears to work.
Why is a breakpoint of 1024 causing problems?

The default page size can be changed in the page properties.
The default size should be the largest. Every breakpoint you add after that should be smaller. I would say a typical default size to use is 1366px as most monitors are this size.
Also, you have 'Activate breakpoints when browser window is smaller than the device width" in manage breakpoints. There is a 2nd option "Activate breakpoints when browser window is larger than the device width". I would recommend choosing the 2nd option.

It looks like it's not he number 1024 as a breakpoint that's causing the problem.
It looks like the problem occurs when the breakpoint on the embedded page is the same as the breakpoint in the page in which it is embedded.
With this .wbs file, page 1 has a breakpoint at 1023, page2 has a breakpoints of 1024 and the embedded page has a breakpoint of 1023, matching page 1.
The menu fails to appear on page1 when the window is smaller than 640 pixels but appears as expected on page2.

It turns out that there was an error in the generated code for the CSS menu.
This has been fixed in the latest build (6/7/2020).

Can you please describe what the exact problem is?
Where on the page do I need to look?
Also, when you share a project then please remove all non-relevant content. Then are so many objects that I have no idea where to start looking.
Please read the FAQ,.
I have found the following issues in your project (via Page -> Error Reports):
- invalid filenames. Related FAQ:

Have a look at the site now..

Thank you Pablo, ill have a look.
There are just another 2 issues i cant resolve. I've uploaded the demo again
http://www.tripack.co.za/
You will see on the index page, in the card holder i want to link the email address to the actual email, i don't see any option there.
Then the bookmarks:
On the trigger sprayers page, you click view, when you roll-over the image, then it is suppose to take me to that specific bookmark on the ts-portfolio page, but somehow it doesn't line up with the bookmark
Any advise here please...
Thanks

1. Change the 'Text' item to a 'Button' item then you can link it.
2. You did not include images, so I cannot see what the page look like.
Also, please try to include the name/ID of the object you want help for, because there are so many item in your project that I have no idea what to do if you ware not more specific.
Re: Menu keeps disappearing

okay, i've uploaded it again.
The following bookmark links:
afa-bookmark
ts-range-Bookmark
dp-range-Bookmark
sps-sc-Bookmark
sps-range
pw-range-Bookmark
So the images on the trigger sprayer page must be linked to each of these bookmarks on the ts-portfolio page. So its is linked but it doesn't display or line up with the actual bookmark. I want the text to be revealed once it jumps to that specific bookmark.
Thanks

I'm very sorry, but I am still confused.
This is the page, right?
http://www.tripack.co.za/ts-portfolio.html
I do not see anything on the page that links to 'afa-bookmark' or any of the other bookmarks.
How did you link to the bookmarks?
Please understand that it's very important to simplify your project as much as possible, there are still dozens of objects.
I would take a lot of time to go through the properties of all these objects to figure out what you have done. I did try for a 10 minutes but I could not find the links.
Can you please be more specific?

Hi Pablo
I don't know how you want me to simplify it even more. Yes that is the page with the bookmarks. i'll send the demo again... I'm sending you 3 pics with the link to their bookmarks, the actual picture when you double click on the pic it takes you to the link option (this is on the trigger-sprayers page)
That link of the picture is linked to the specific bookmark under that category of that specific range onto the (ts-portfolio page)
Let me upload it so its even more simplified, without so many pics

On this page:
http://www.tripack.co.za/ts-portfolio.html
which object/image did you link to a bookmark?
Where do I click?
And what did you expect to happen?
Re: Menu keeps disappearing
Posted: Sun Jul 05, 2020 8:52 pm
by santieb
on this page
http://www.tripack.co.za/trigger-sprayers.html
the image if you scroll over there is a "view more" link that is linked to the bookmark of that specific category on this page
http://www.tripack.co.za/ts-portfolio.h ... e-Bookmark
So its linked to the bookmark of that specif range on that page ts-portfolio.
What must happen is.. when you click on "view more" on this page it must direct me to the specific bookmark of that range
http://www.tripack.co.za/trigger-sprayers.html
which will be on this page here
http://www.tripack.co.za/ts-portfolio.html
so at this stage it doesn't align with the bookmark, it doesn't jump to the bookmark where the text must be revealed...it jumps to the images
hope it makes sense

Did you remove the pages? Because I can no longer access the page.
In the project you have shared "Tripack Website2_demo.wbs", the links in the Rollover images are set to open an image in a lightbox, so they not linked not the bookmarks.
Did you share the correct file?
Also, note that if you want to scroll to the top of the section, then you can also bookmark directly to the layout grid. There is no need to insert a separate bookmark object.
In that case, it may be useful to use more meaningful names for the grids.

Hi Pablo
I've uploaded the demo where the images is linked to the grid. This is the correct file.
Trigger Sprayers page pictures is not linked to a lightbox but to the grid in this demo.
http://www.tripack.co.za/
On the TS-Portfolio page the images open in a lightbox.
So the problem is still the same it does not display where it is linked to.
Layout Grids:
LayoutGrid-sps-sc-range
LayoutGrid-sps-range
LayoutGrid-pw-range
Second question is, i need to know how to exclude a page in the navigation, although it must still be part of the project and published, i just dont want it to show in the sub-menus?

The main thing Pablo is that what i want to achieve is that the picture must be linked to a specific category of pictures on the ts portfolio page. So if there is another way to do this except for bookmark, that will be of great help.
I really need to get this sorted, i have to upload for the client to view.
Also how do i exclude the ts-portfolio page in the navigation?

Please upload the images used by the project.
Without images, previewing the page will ust dispjay an empty page and therefor I cannot test your bookmarks that way.
How to share a project?
- remove all non-relevant content from the project. This means all pages and elements that are not relevant to your question should be removed.
- put the project file (wbs) and the images in zip file.
- upload the project to your website or another public server.
- include the link to the zip file in your forum post
- include a description of the exact steps how to reproduce the problem
