How to stop layout grid from showing after first time?

- Using WYSIWG v.15 -

Hi and thanks in advance for any help here. I've got a masterpage header area which uses two layout grids, one for a our policy information text and the other (on top of it) for the button that closes them both via events action.

It works fine, but because it's a masterpage, it shows every time any page is opened. That's great for the first time or maybe for the second, but it is obviouly a pain to the user to have to see and close it every time a new page is opened. There are well over 100 pages on the site.

This way seems to get the point across but is very obnoxious as it follows you everywhere.

Previous simpler attempts to alert visitors (a text or graphic link) have gone unheeded. They just ignored it and were then unprepared when the showed up at our shop.

My question is, there is a way to have it just show on the first site view (no matter what page that was) and no more? If people just always entered the site through the index or some other page, it would be easy, but since you never know where they might start, it's a problem.

Thanks for any advice. Beth

What you want to do require programming (script).
And although I cannot help you to write scripts, this template may be useful:

It uses JavaScript and cookies to make it possible for the user to not show the dialog again.

Thank you Pablo. That's over my head but good to know. I'll take a look.

Maybe you can use the Cookie bubble extension for what you want?
