*** SOLVED *** php mailer

Just discovered none of my email links are working. I have done no other work other than to update files from the update site and reload the appropriate page when php mailer got updated a short time ago so that I have the latest version on my site. Was there any thing else I was supposed to do when this file got updated?
Update:
Further investigation I found the phpmailer program had wrong permissions on my server (no ability to execute). I then had to reload all 6 pages that linked to that program before it magically started working again.
