The uninstalled extension does not open that web page in the project

Post by pajadt »

Hi Pablo

In previous versions, if no extension was installed, it would open projects, where when you open that page in the project, it shows which extension is missing. This was ideal, you could see both the page and the missing extension.
In wwb 16 when you open a page and by some chance you don't have that extension installed, it just doesn't display that page at all in the project. I looked at this tutorial where the extension renames, and then the project opens. And what should I rename it, when I don't see which one it is, isn't it showing that website in the project at all.
Whether Pablo can return it as it was is a very big problem, especially for some extensions that are beyond the official offer of WWB.
Thank you

Whether or not the project can be open depends on the type of extension. This has not changed since previous versions.
If the project uses third party extensions then the project can be opened because the structure of those extensions is always the same.
If the project uses an official extension then the structure is unknown (binary) and therefor the project can only be loaded if the extension exists.

These are some old extesion, which are from WWB and were free
I not use nonlegal WWB that you know, also what if use some project from someone which need new design, that mean he must me send that extension which he pay.
I remember very well before, now I don't know exactly which version of WWB, when the project opens, it first gives a notification, which extensions are missing, and then opens the whole project, and those extensions are red as a warning, that you don't have them, but you can work on the project.

Go back to the ideal, why are you doing this, if you think you would protect the extensions then that is the wrong way, the more ideal is the former.
Than we like designer can work with project, whiteout need that extensions

I think you have mistunderstood my reply.
It does not matter whether the extension is paid or not. It depends on the type of extension.
There is no way to load the project if the software does not know the structure of the extension.
Therefor only extensions created with Extension Builder can be loaded becuase then the structure is always the same.
