Hello,
I have made a masterpage and i have also made a footer there. But now it tells me "Invalid use of footer" ?
Can someone please help me, what should this mean?
Thank you!

Are you sure you have used a master page?
Maybe you have used an embedded page instead?
A footer cannot be on an embedded page otherwise it will appear in the middle of the page.

Yes, it was embedded. Thank you for the help! I have managed to find a solution that suites me, so you can put this post as solved. Thanks!

So instead of embedding a page how does one apply a master page. There is no listing in the toolbox for Master Page.

I take it that the master-page or frame cannot be used on the main page and a different one on the breakpoint ?

No, don't believe so. Keep in mind that the master page and the main page are merged together when published/previewed. If you are needing the same thing on different pages you can use an embedded page.
I think of it this way:
Master page - use when you want the same header and footer on many pages
Embedded page - use when you want certain objects used on multiple pages
If you have a page where you want the header/footer to be different from your regular master page, then create a 2nd master page just for that page.
