Menu jumps (specially when dealing with text)

The menu of the program itself is VERY jumpy now that it auto-hides. Whenever I click on text to edit, it jumps about 20 pixels or more in a direction and it almost always means I accidentally drag the text box to another location. I can't figure out how to keep the menu in place (turn off the auto hide)

if you need further assistance then please try to be more specific.
Notre however that menu and toolbar are standard Windows functionality so I have no control over how 'auto hide' works.
