Is this an Icon or a shape with a number in it? Can you provide more detail on how you made this?
To me it looks just like a shape with #1 inside. If so, did you try setting the vertical = top?
Depending on the actual font and size, it seems to work ok for me.

To be able to help you, I need a DEMO project so I can see all your settings.
Note: I do not need the complete project because that will only take more time to figure out what you have done.
