Text Color

site properties/style/defaults/text
I select color blue then click OK
Default text now shows as the newly selected blue color in the Site Properties
Add a text object to a page, the font remains black

I have tried this myself and it works for me.
Do you have a DEMO project so I can see all your settings?

I fixed the issue by doing a 'Reset Settings' in file/options
