If I use text on a layer that is initially hidden on loading of the page and that would be revealed through the "show" command, would that text get crawled correctly by google without any issue of "black hat SEO"?

I do think that this will affect SEO, because then this would also be true for many other web elements like drop down menus, popups, carousels etc.
