Paypal DONATION extension issue

Post by TAK »

I am using the Paypal DONATION extension. Is there a way for the buyer to type into a text field what the PURPOSE of the donation is?
I tried leaving the "Donation Name" field blank in the general tab as instructed in help but that did not provide a field for the buyer to enter any text.

The Donation button is standard PayPal functionality.
The software only adds a placeholder, the logic is implemented on the PayPal servers. So, we do not have any control over how it works.

With the newer versions of the Website Payments Standard checkout flow the "note to seller" is no longer a supported feature by PayPal.
A workaround for this would be to use an "option variable" to create a textbox in your checkout flow.

Thank you Pablo! Is there a tutorial or website example you could point me to on how to implement the option variable?

if you switch to the 'Options' tab of the properties then you will see the necessary steps.
