Using PhotoGallery with Light Box Gallery via Fancybox.
webP does display the thumb but when you click and start scrolling through the images, when a webP image is selected it does not render.

Fancybox is a very old (third party) script and it does not support webp.
If you need support for webp, then I suggest to use one of the many other available lightboxes instead.

Back looking for direction. WebP does not render the image when using a single image to view full size. The error received is "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later." As I understand it, Fancybox does not support WebP.
I have a single image on a page in WebP format...Not using a gallery. I simply want to click to enlarge the single image ... as it once worked with fancybox. While I'm not looking for recommendations, I am asking if anybody knows which lightbox I might be able to use (or is better suited) to regain the effect using WebP images?
Current version is WB17 ... but ... I have purchased WB18...just haven't started using it quite yet.
Thanks,
Larry

As of WYSIWYG Web Builder 18.1 update support for WebP was improved for Fancybox.
viewtopic.php?p=482609&hilit=Fancybox+WebP#p482609
- Improved: Added support for webp images to fancybox lightbox
Also WebP requires Window 10 or newer, because it uses Direct2D.

Sorry, yes Bacon is correct. My bad.
in WB18, fancybox does support .webp.
In addition, it also looks like colorbox and prettyphoto work with .webp.
