Event pinboard

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I manage a website for a photo club and would like to have a pinboard type page that would have small panels showing details of possible events suitable to go to for photography. Ideally I don't want to re-publish everytime one of the events finishes so ideally maybe a link to somewhere events could be maintained separately.
