I too am figuring out how to set up an e-commerce: Can I follow all these steps/use all Paypal shopping insert buttons etc. and when someone decide to purchase/pay add an thirdparty (IDEAL) link to it? Or isn't there for me any use of all these paypal buttons in case the paymentmethod will be IDEAL in the end?

Paypal does support iDEAL according to their website. But I have not tried this myself.
You can also accept iDEAL payment via Paddle or Stripe.

What is your project? How many items? Do the items have variations; color, size? What will you accept as payment methods? How will you ship and how will you price the shipping; flat rate, by weight, by order dollar amount, by integration with shipper tables, free? Does the inventory need to integrate with a Brick and Mortor store?

Is it for your use or a client?
