New RichEdit - first test seems OK.

Pablo,
First test of 18.1.1 with the new DLLs.
I've copied the DLLs to the WWB system folder. Started up 18.1.1 and turned ON Direct 2D (I had it turned off because of my Nunito Sans font).
Exited WWB and restarted it.
Loaded in a WBS file containing the Nunito Sans font. Did a page preview and it looked fine.
What other tests would you like me to do?
regards
Alan

Thanks for testing!
I think it's important that all standard text editing features still work the same. Like copy/paste, formatting, html output etc.
Note that based on your feedback about to the Direct2d/Nunito Sans issues, I contacted the Microsoft developer a while ago and now they have finally fixed it!

Does this mean that using this will cause links in the editor to appear in their set color instead of the standard blue as in the past?

This behavior has not changed.

@Pablo - Is there any way for WWB to get the Path to the office's "System" folder or Notepad's path via the registry so there would be no need to copy the files? I am not sure if this is possible. Just a thought.

Not everybody has MS Office so it would be safer to get it from the Notepad folder?

Good point - I will edit my original post.

As far as I know there is no easy official way to get the path of Notepad or Office.
Note that this is just an experiment. For now it's just a 'hack' which seems to work. I am not even sure it's legal...
But hopefully eventually Microsoft will support the new version officially.
