I make the site header from the layout grid, but then I put another grid, the content that is placed on the second layout grid that is lower than the header, that is, for the first layout grid. Why is this happening? sometimes half of the content is placed on the second grid. I give indents, but they have large values , is this the way to do it ? or am I doing something wrong ?

The header is set to 'fixed' so that is why other (floating) content is behind it. So, this is excepted behavior.
You can add top margin to the first layout grid to add extra spacing.
