I'd like to have an event on my master from on a button that opens a panel menu on a separate page at a specific breakpoint. My problem is that the panel menu objects don't show on assets from the master frame. I've seen it done but I'm not certain how to locate assets from another page in the object manager.

You can only trigger objects which are part of the same page.
Also, events apply to all breakpoints. Because all breakpoints are part of the same page. Only the layout is different.
