Again, I get these odd emails from Google Search Console stating something is wrong with indexing my websites.

This time it is:

New reason preventing your videos from being indexed

Search Console has identified that some videos on your site are not being indexed due to the following new reason:

No thumbnail URL provided

If this reason is not intentional, we recommend that you fix it in order to get affected videos indexed and appearing on Google.
Open indexing report

The video is in a Layout Grid in Style, Background, Video (image only). There is no option for a thumbnail that Google speaks of.

Anyone know how I should fix this ?

What is the context of this error?
Which WWB tools did you use?
What are your settings?
Can you please be more specific?

Is the following url YourSite to the page "Google" are saying the thumbnail is missing from the video? If so then it is most likely related to video schema markup not present in the page source. See the following asking the same question although the question is mentions Vimeo and React player see the solution by dwsmart Diamond Product Expert and the url he provides about this.

Not sure what you mean by Context of the error. I can only restate what Google Console says.

Google Console's help on this subject, and other things like canonical errors, is very confusing if one does not understand the technical language.

To possibly assist in understanding the tools I have used, I have attached the WBS Project file. The video is an mp4 file in the Style, Background options of "indexLayoutGrid1" object included is a direct link to the only video used.

What I meant was, do you want the video to be indexed?
If you are just using the video as background, then it's probably for decoration purposes only?

You can add a 'Structured Data' object (Type -> Video) to the page. Here you can specify a thumbnail image.

You can also add a 'poster' image to the background video, via the style properties of the Layout Grid:
- change background mode to 'image'
- select an image
- change background mode back to 'video'
