Auto-Save is off by default. Please turn it on and potentially save yourself a lot of work

Post by Fredl »

Hello all, I spent most of yesterday working on a client's website when a storm blew through. The power went off for a half a second and my PC turned off. When it came back up 3 entire pages of my project had lost their content. I'm usually in the habit of hitting "save" frequently, but for some reason I didn't yesterday. I went to File>options (near the bottom of the side panel)>Backup and ticked the box next to "Auto-save" leaving the interval at 30 mins. Today I repeated all of the work and am back to where I was before the power went out. I wish I had looked for that setting before! I'm passing this along in hopes of saving somebody a lot of work duplicating their efforts after a power outage or system crash.

Indeed! I learned that mine doesn't work! The panel didn't indicate any problem, but it didn't provide any protection that time.
